You May Recall a Satire on a New York Times headline: "End of the World; Blacks, Women Hardest Hit"

.  But this actually takes the cake and it's real03/22 The Atlantic:

I mean this quite literally. If you are worried about rapid, catastrophic changes to the planet’s climate, then you must be worried about nuclear war. That is because, on top of killing tens of millions of people, even a relatively “minor” exchange of nuclear weapons would wreck the planet’s climate in enormous and long-lasting ways.

Even the more optimistic estimates of a limited nuclear war from the 1970s had hundreds of millions dead just from the initial war.  Far more would die from the ending of grain exports from North America and starvation in parts of the world even a few hundred miles from the farms.
