Not particularly "new" news. Operation Northwoods information was made public in 1997. Shocking still, to be sure... it's partially why there are so many 9/11 conspiracy theorists out there, especially considering the timing of the original disclosure.
Ummm, Officially, per the always reliable Wikipedia, Operation Northwoods, not Mongoose per its Wikipedia page, has long been known.
