Electric Cooking
I asked this civil defense question a while back. One of you suggested the J.C. Whitney catalog for 12V oven. I discovered that "12V stove for car" in Amazon brought up a number of choices some of which have very positive reviews indicating that they can get 300 degrees in the oven. Cook two chicken breasts in three hours. Apparently about 45 watts per hour draw. I need to see how many watt-hours a car battery can store.

Car battery capacities vary a lot. I recollect they are typically in the 750-1000 kwh range. So, 150 wh draw of your example would use about 20% of a full charge.
ReplyDeleteWhoops - that's 750-1000 watt hrs, not kwh
