"According to available Census data, the divorce rate for second marriages in the United States is over 60% compared to around 50% for first marriages."
Not surprised. My father-in-law was married three times.
"
- 73% of third marriages end in divorce."
I don't think the higher rate is because they were married before or because they were divorced before. It's because they're STILL DOING IT WRONG. Either failing in their choice of a spouse, or failing as a spouse. Or both.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. Keep marrying losers and the results are guaranteed. My sister-in-law married my wife's drug addict brother. Husband two was a registered sex offender, later convicted of murder.
DeleteThere should be a "Three Strikes and you're out" rule for marriage, too.
ReplyDeleteAn ex-girlfriend's father was a successful engineer who didn't do drugs and only drank socially, but he kept cheating. After the third divorce, his lawyer said "if you get married again, I quit".
