Fascinating discovery today. Some distant cousins popped up: 3rd to 6th cousins. We shared a couple very courageous ancestors. Mixed race marriages were socially stigmatized to an extraordinary level that many generations ago.
I am hoping that my contact attempt leads fruit.
I did the Ancestry DNA test under a fake name and with all the privacy settings locked down. As far as anyone knows, I am a one off with no ancestors, descendants, or relatives and thats the way I like it. The test was strictly for my own curiousity. I don't care to have a 5th cousin twice removed contacting me out of the blue.
