San Diego County, Cal. (1934)
03/26/1934: The murderer initially admitted only an “accident”
in which his girlfriend and their two children had died. The car was found “at the base of a 200-foot
cliff.” The license plates were missing ;the “engine serial numbers filed off,”; and the ignition was still on. Police still traced the car ownership back to
the murderer. (His claim of an accident
seemed implausible.)
