Eclipse is So Slow
I cannot imagine going back to using javac, jdb, and emacs, but it is amazing how slow it is. Actually, the temptation to go back to emacs and javac gets stronger and stronger. Especially on the antique Compaq NC6000 that controls the mill: there is no 32-bit version of Eclipse Oxygen.

How fast is your computer? I find it's pretty fast, but I'm running a 6-core desktop processor @3.9GHz with 16GB of RAM.
ReplyDeleteSlow doing what? I don't find it to be slow at all. I've done a lot of work in Eclipse, on both Windows and MacOS, with pretty bit Java projects.
ReplyDeleteI suspect something is broken in your setup.
