Absolutely Awesome Book

I read Helter Skelter many years ago, about the Tate-LaBianca murders of 1969.  I had forgotten what a tour de force of great writing it is.  Gripping, clear in explain police and legal procedure, doubtless benefitting from Bugliosi having to explain all to his co-author Curt Gentry.  Fortunately, I did not have to wallow through the whole bloody mess; I just wanted a primary source for the body count and weapons used.

  1. When the book first came out, each of us in our family read it, one after the other, and my mom commented once that my dad started carefully deadbolting the front door while he was reading it. You are right, it is a very compelling read.
