9/7/18 Fox https://fox61.com/2018/09/07/bridgeport-woman-blows-up-hand-mistaking-dynamite-for-a-candle/ reports a woman lit a candle left by previous owners of the home, and it turned out to be a stick of dynamite.
I'm suspecting that what she lit was a "quarter stick":

which is so-named because of dimensional resemblance to a quarter-stick of dynamite, but contains flash powder rather than nitroglycerin.
It may be that the brand name is "quarter stick of dynamite"
