About to Lose My Mind

There are so many how-tos out there that explain how to share Windows 7 and Ubuntu 10.04 files... but none of them work.  Does anyone have one that does?  Sharing files by emailing them is dumb.  I am sure Microsoft is at falt, but the enormous number of different how-tos using Samba and NFS is discouraging, since none actually work.

  1. Might want to do some digging, but if you get something like this:

You should be able to do this: http://www.tp-link.us/faq-420.html

  2. Samba can definitely work, but if it is too ornery you could always use dropbox.

  3. Is this an unintentional repeat post?

I thought you finally solved that problem months ago.

  5. If it was working before and then stopped working, I'd suspect some security setting was changed inadvertently or by a software update--I'd check to see if the Windows Firewall is allowing CIFS data to pass.
