Reason to Suspect Fraud in Philly Ballot Counting

DoJ announces guilty plea by Judge of Elections in Philadelphia for 2014-16 election fraud:
"During his guilty plea hearing, DeMuro admitted that an unnamed political consultant gave DeMuro directions and paid him money to illegally add votes for certain Democratic candidates. These candidates were individuals running for judicial office whose campaigns had hired the consultant, as well as other candidates for various federal, state, and local elective offices who were preferred by this consultant for a variety of reasons."

  1. Variety of Reasons or obvious (as in future political favors).

  2. This is one of those old-news (May 2020) things being re-discovered by people because of the present circumstances.

DeMuro’s fraudulent votes accounted for over 22% of the total voting in that division in 2014. In 2015, his fraud accounted for over 15% of the votes in the division; in 2016, his fraud accounted for over 17% of the votes.

Primary beneficiaries of this were D candidates for common-please judge, now on the bench.

This and the arrest of his co-conspirator, the expelled ABSCAM congressman “Ozzie” Myers, were found by the feds unintentionally in the corruption investigation into labor leader John J. Dougherty of the IBEW.

  3. Saddest bit from a Philadelphia Inquirer article about the case is a quote from Al Schmidt, vice chairman of the Office of Philadelphia City Commissioners, which runs elections. He's found it frustrating that he has referred multiple similar cases of suspected fraud (many more ballots cast than voters recorded) to the DA every election since he came to office in 2012, and none were ever followed-up.

So it seems the all the candidates that benefitted from the fraud get off free, as would the DA who refused to investigate -- if he hadn't been since convicted for other corruption!
