Moore's Law and Monitors

My wif'e's external monitor failed.  It was quite old and at current monitor costs, it seemed silly to repair, so I handed one of monitors to her and bought a new Philips 27" HD monitor for about $170  To my surprise and pleasure this now allowed me to put both the newspaper page and the Word document in which I summarize long ago tragedies on the same screen in a readable size.

It has been a long time since I hit the PrtScrn button.  In MS-DOS 1.1 this literally printed the screen to the parallel printer on LPT1.  Am I showing my antiquity?  When I helped build Khufu's pyramid...

  1. Oh, you think working on Khufu's pyramid makes you old? I worked on a TRS-80 model 1. 16kb of memory. SIXTEEN!!!! And a cassette recorder to save things on. Good times!
