At the old house, as fluorescent light fixtures (not the tube themselves) started to fail I replaced them with LED fixtures of the same shape giving similar brightness with lower consumption.
The tubes in the master closet fixture failed and I was pleased to find LED tubes that were exact replacements for the fluorescent rubes. Same light, less than half the power consumption, and likely I will never replace them! Win, win, win!
