This is not meant to be an exhaustive list, but here are ten cases where law-abiding citizens, some of them concealed handgun permit holders fired at least 10 shots in self-defense.
Ayoob had a write-up about an after-hours breakin at a gun shop by a gang of thugs. IIRC, the dealer used 4 guns to repel borders. He lived next door to the shop. At least one of them was a submachinegun, a S&W model 76. He fired over 100 rounds, and killed two that I can recall when they attempted to run him down with a car. He wasn't tying to kill the gang, just drive them off. He turned the shop into Swiss cheese trying that.
