Would like to buy a Brown Bess bullet (.75 caliber) for American History class. Holding something like that impresses students the risks the militiamen were taking.
Another demonstration would be to take a replica Brown Bess and shoot a target from a bench rest just to show how inaccurate they were. Follow that up with a Civil War Minie ball target to show the increased lethaliaty.

ReplyDeleteI am allowed to carry concealed on campus. Firing a Brown Bess on campus might be a problem. I found an eBay source.
