10/17/1932: In retaliation for the killing of a deputy
sheriff by a black man, the sheriff led a mob of 300 to the home a black judge
believed to be friends with the missing killer.
They disclaimed any knowledge of the killer’s whereabouts; the mob then
shot to family of five to death.
