Nice Little Surprise: Dropping Insurance Premiums

I have a Medicare Advantage plan from Blue Cross, which covers the things that Medicare does not: doctor's visits, physical therapy, prescription drugs.  The cost was $74 a month.  It just dropped to $49 a month.  Why?  Probably competitive pressure.

  1. Medicare covers doctor visits and prescription drugs.

Medicare Advantage is an alternative Medicare system from the Bush 43 Administration. It is usually lower cost, but often with restricted provider networks. It moves the administration from the government to the insurance company.

I use traditional Medicare, with Blue Cross "supplemental" to augment the Part B (non-hospital services), and another company for the prescriptions (Part D - which is also a Bush 43 program, also run by private companies).
