Why Democrats May Do Worse Than They Expect in November

This Harris Poll fvrom late June shows that 76% of registered voters support "secure borders"; 26% support "open borders."  In reasponse to the current Democratic Party slogan of "Abolish ICE," 69% disapprove; 31% want it "disbanded."  64% say illegals should be sent home.  When asked how to deter illegal immigration ,only 15% say they do not want to see stronger border enforcement.  84% believe cities should be required to notify ICE when they arrest illegals for crimes.

Now there are other issues Americans care about, like jobs and a growing economy, but these are such strong suits for Trump that Democrats are reduced to saying that historic lows of unemployment are not that important.

I keep seeing this poll cited as showing rising support for Trump among Hispanics, but I can't find any questions that break down support for Trump by ethnic group.  6/27/18 The Hill says, citing this survey:
Trump's approval rating was lifted in part by a 10 point climb among Hispanic voters.
This may be a surprise, but many Hispanics are either U.S. citizens or lawful immigrants.  That they would share the same concerns about illegal immigration as the rest of is not a surprise.
