Amazon Has to Break Everything

You used to be able to buy Kindle books from inside Kindle.  No more.  A year or two back you needed to buy them from Amazon and they would magically appear in the Kindle app.  No longer.  I press the buy button for a Kindle edition of Samuel Pepys' diary...and nothing happens.  It makes no purchase and nothing shows up in my Kindle app.  Are they trying to lose sales opportunities?

  2. I stopped buying ebooks from Amazon when they made it impossible to load their books into Calibre.

    1. I swore off buying ebooks when I read that the woke are editing Charlie and the Chocolate Factory because Dahl's language was insulting towards the various prize winners Charlie visits the chocolate factory with -- fatness and such.
This editing is applied retroactively to ebooks people have already purchased. Roald Dahl is unavailable for comment, having passed on some years back so he doesn't have to witness this 21st century version of colorizing.

    2. I first ran into that with the Hardy Boys. There were a bunch of them at my grandmother's when I was a kid. They'd been her brother's. The 1950-1970 reprints were very different.

  3. I bought some books from inside my Kindle last night. No issues.

The problem I have is I cannot buy from the Android app on my phone.

    1. That is the problem. Petro pointed to an explanation of why. But that does not say how to buy them on Amazon for loading into Android Kindle.

    1. Perhaps, but can you download the file to your computer, then move it into a third-party library management system?

    2. I just bought it ($0) again and scanned the QR code for Kindle. Now it is there.
