Interesting Video Tracing Possible Origins of the Virus

This 4/5/20 Daily Mail article advances the same theory.  Accidental release, not weapon.

  1. It is clear it was not a weaponized virus. It is indeed possible that it was an accidental release.

My daughter, who worked with viral pathogens at NIH in BSL-2 and BSL-3 labs, said that this virus should never have been researched in a BSL-2 lab. But, that's where they were looking bat coronaviruses - in Wuhan, near the infamous wet market. They were studying corona viruses in bats.

By the way, note that this wasn't the BSL-4 Wuhan lab featured in the conspiracy theory about it being a weaponized virus.

And, the Chinese had an accidental release of SARS back in 2004.

So yes, possible, and no, not an intentional weapon.
