Some Names...Do They Doom You?

The headline from October 4, 2012 KTVB is:
Stoner pleads guilty to drug charges
But that's his name, not a description:
BOISE -- A 33-year-old man from Boise pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court to one count of offering drug paraphernalia for sale.
Anthony Stoner is now the eighth defendant to plead guilty over the past two months in federal court to the charge of offering drug paraphernalia for sale. He is the owner/operator of Smoke-N-Accessories at 6419 Ustick Road in Boise.

  1. Didn't to His Eminence Jaime Lachica Sin, Cardinal of the Holy Roman Church; as Wikipedia puts it:

His title and surname as Cardinal Sin (another term for a deadly sin) were a point of humour in the Philippines and for Philippine Catholics. Examples included "The greatest sin of all: Cardinal Sin", and even his own pun of "Welcome to the house of Sin" that he said to guests at his official residence of Villa San Miguel.

  2. Did his grandfather, perhaps invent a certain rifle in the late 50's? Officially they blame the use of the wrong gunpowder by the Army for the early problems with the AR in general use, but after all, it was invented by a Stoner.

  3. Oddly enough, I carpooled to an Oracle class in San Francisco for a few days with a Stoner who was married to that same rifle designer's grandson.
