Terrorists in Charge

Darren Wilson has resigned from Ferguson PD:

Wilson told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch he was stepping down out of his "own free will" after the police department told him it had received threats of violence if he remained an employee.

"I'm not willing to let someone else get hurt because of me," said Wilson, who had been with the department for six years.
Giving in to terrorists is never a good idea.  Imagine if the Yankees Dodgers had refused to let Jackie Robinson play because of threats. I am beginning to fear that Jefferson's famous quote about racial hatred has turned out to be true.

From Notes on the State of Virginia on why emancipation of the slaves would not work:
Deep rooted prejudices entertained by the whites; ten thousand recollections, by the blacks, of the injuries they have sustained; new provocations; the real distinctions which nature has made; and many other circumstances, will divide us into parties, and produce convulsions, which will probably never end but in the extermination of the one or the other race

And now Obama is meeting with Sharpton!

  1. Just a quick note... JR played for the Dodgers. Of course this does not invalidate your point one bit, I'm just a baseball nut.

  2. Interesting quote. I don't agree with him on this though from his perspective it's a view that makes a lot of sense.

In my opinion, the biggest impediment to blacks and whites living together are policies like affirmative action. Thomas Sowell documents that other cultures have implemented similar policies and it has always led to violence and distrust. The founders (the abolitionist ones) had it right that the government should strive to treat all equally.
