Is It a Bad Sign When You Need A 10 Port USB Hub?

This is what I had before:

And I needed to plug in another USB device, a headset because the microphone input jack is not working.
So I bought this.

UPDATE: An unexpected benefit.  The 1TB external drive has never allowed the PC to boot while it is connected.  Because this is a USB 3.0 hub, it now boots just fine with the drive connected.

  1. It does tend to suggest some Fundamental Problem with the setup, if you're actually using 10 USB devices and they're not mostly idle charger chables...

  2. Two external har drives, mouse, keyboard, and a bunch of camera cables, mostly disconnected.

  3. Okay, so, yes, mostly idle cables.

You're fine; no bad sign there.

  4. I always just plug the cameras' memory cards into a SD card reader. For one thing, the camera software always hijacks the PC.
