A lot of very depressed people who look like they have substance abuse problems. Like Reno, gas pumps demand your billing zipcode for credit card payments, I presume because of widespread card theft. A lot of worndown buildings and people. If you watch Alaska State Troopers, this should not be a surprise.

I've long been accustomed to areas where the gas pumps demand a zip code for the card.
ReplyDeleteTypically areas with lots of transient customers, coming past on the freeway. Or areas where theft of wallets/purses is a common crime. (And use of stolen credit cards a common side-effect.)
It's a sign that the store-owner (and the CC clearing house) think that the use of stolen credit cards is probable enough to be troublesome.
