Pronto: Need a Link to an Official U.S. Army Operator's Manual for the M9

I need evidence that a detachable magazine is part of a firearm, not an "accessory. "  Preferably on an a government website.

Thanks to all.  Why did I need this?  Ocean State Tactical v. Rhode Island (D.R.I. 2022):

When a multiple-round device like an LCM [Large Capacity Magazine] is attached, a handgun becomes a "semiautomatic" weapon, meaning that it is capable of rapidly firing several bullets, one right after another.

Link to a PDF that appears to be the Operators Manual and lists it as part of the equipment.

  2. Try FM 3-23.35 (FM 23-35) at https://archive.org/details/FM3-23x35
Page 1-3, Section 1-2. COMPONENTS lists the magazine as a major component.

  3. Sorry, I did not find a government site. However http://pdf.textfiles.com/manuals/MILITARY/united_states_army_tm_9-1005-317-10%20-%2014_december_1990.pdf
has the manual which describes the magazine as part of the pistol (e.g. in the cleaning section, etc.). Appendix C lists a number for additional magazines; Appendix D lists "EXPENDABLE/DURABLE SUPPLIES AND MATERIALS LIST" which does *not* include the magazines.

  7. Does it have to be a US Army manual - what about Marines, FBI, NYPD, etc?

  9. This is an oldish manual which is a copy of the December 1990 M9 update. The U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) used to post non-classified stuff openly on the web, but I think they may have had a policy change. http://pdf.textfiles.com/manuals/MILITARY/united_states_army_tm_9-1005-317-10%20-%2014_december_1990.pdf

  10. Another telling factor. Does the gun include a Magazine safety? If it can not be fired without a magazine in place, then it is absolutely necessary to function.
