Yes. Unique.

11/2/23 AP:
"A judge’s order for a new primary in Connecticut’s largest city because of what he called mishandling of absentee ballots is fueling skepticism about the security of U.S. elections, as well as conspiracy theories involving the 2020 presidential election.

"But election experts contend what happened in Bridgeport — people captured on surveillance video dropping stacks of ballots into outdoor collection boxes — is unique to Bridgeport, a working class city of more than 144,000 that has a long history of voting irregularities. At the very least, they said, it is pretty rare and shouldn’t be seen as evidence of widespread problems....

"On Wednesday, Connecticut Judge William Clark tossed out the results of the Sept. 12 primary and ordered that a new one be held, citing what he referred to as “shocking” surveillance videos that appeared to show supporters of Mayor Joe Ganim dropping multiple pieces of paper into absentee ballot boxes.

"Under Connecticut law, voters using a collection box must drop off their completed ballots themselves, or designate certain family members, police, local election officials or a caregiver to do it for them. Clark wrote in his decision that the volume of “mishandled ballots” left the court unable to determine the legitimate result of the primary."

The article goes on to explain that there is no reason to believe that there were any problems that might fit Trump's Stop the Steal claims:

"An Associated Press review of every potential case of voter fraud in the six battleground states disputed by Trump has found fewer than 475 — a number that would have made no difference in the 2020 presidential election."

Do they mean 475 votes?  Or cases of fraud.  Of course that means those dumb enough to get caught.

Questioning the Election Process is Paranoid

9/9/22 AP:
"ATLANTA (AP) — A group of computer and election security experts is urging Georgia election officials to replace the state’s touchscreen voting machines with hand-marked paper ballots ahead of the November midterm elections, citing what they say are “serious threats” posed by an apparent breach of voting equipment in one county.

"The 13 experts on Thursday sent a letter to the members of the State Election Board and to Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, who’s a non-voting member of the board. It urges them to immediately stop using the state’s Dominion Voting Systems touchscreen voting machines. It also suggests they mandate a particular type of post-election audit on the outcome of all races on the ballot."

Was there not some paranoid sore loser a couple years ago claiming Dominion Voting Systems were suspect?

Can States Preserve Voter ID?

HR1 supposedly ends voter ID, through Congressional authority under Art. I, sec. 4 to regulate elections to the House and Senate.  They can prohibit States from requiring voter ID for federal races.  But there are few federal elections that are not also State or local elections as well.  Require voter ID for those elections and assess a hefty fine for using a fake ID.  The 24th Amendment prohibited the use of poll taxes to prevent voting in federal elections; because these were so heavily tied to local elections in the South, it pretty well ended poll tax disqualification for State and local elections.   It can work that way here.  I do not see a way for Congress to require States to hold federal elections on different days from State elections.

Remember: Voter Fraud is Very Rare

 10/22/20 ABC News:

DUPAGE COUNTY, Ill. -- DuPage County prosecutors are investigating three potential cases of voter fraud tied to mail-in ballots allegedly requested for people who are dead.

State's Attorney Robert Berlin said his office has already investigated six other cases of potential mail-in-ballot fraud and concluded no charges would be filed in those cases.

Each of the cases alleges that the DuPage County clerk's office received a request for a mail-in ballot in September from a county resident who is no longer alive, Berlin said in a statement.

DuPage County Clerk Jean Kaczmarek said her office has received nine "invalid vote-by-mail requests" and forwarded those instances to Berlin's office.

"Testing the process is not a game. It's not worth it. Don't even try," Kaczmarek said in a statement.

A Friend's Interesting Experience With Voter Fraud

You can help!  A friend lives in California.  They use Dominion voting machines.  His wife is a permanent resident.  He went online to verify that his vote was counted.  With name, address, and birth date, he could see that his ballot was received about 2 1/2 weeks before the election, and was processed the way you expect: sent to the ballot counting center and counted before Election Day.  No surprises.

Then he checked his wife.  She was shown registered in 2006, which she has no memory of doing, because she was not a citizen.  (Perhaps created from from DMV license information.)  The sequence of arrival and transmission to the ballot counting center was identical to his.  But her vote was not counted until the day after Election Day, when it was likely needed to improve Biden's vote totals.  Several friends did similar checks and found "problems."  One moved to New York and registered there.  Their California voter registration shows up on that date--and it shows they voted in California; they actually voted in New York.

So do your part: see if you know someone who is old enough but ineligible to vote (non-citizen, felony conviction, back child support payments in some states).  Have them interrogate their local voting database to see if they are registered to vote, and if they voted, and on what day.  Take screenshots.)  This might be the evidence of widespread voter fraud we need.

Affidavits Alleging Voter Fraud

About halfway down in this complaint.  Either this attorney who was appointed a ballot challenger is making this up (perjury, a felony) or there was massive fraud in Detroit.  And it was on the third page of Google search.  I guess that I should be glad it was there at all.

Here is one of the opposing affidavits.  It claims that some of the observers did not understand the process.

More Rare Voter Fraud

11/17/20 Los Angeles County District Attorney:

Two men have been charged in a 41-count criminal complaint for allegedly submitting thousands of fraudulent voter registration applications on behalf of homeless people, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced today.

They caught it!  There must be no other cases.

Something That I Never Would Have Thought Possible

 What is Newcomb-Benford's Law?

Benford's law, also called the Newcomb–Benford law, the law of anomalous numbers, or the first-digit law, is an observation about the frequency distribution of leading digits in many real-life sets of numerical data. The law states that in many naturally occurring collections of numbers, the leading digit is likely to be small.[1] For example, in sets that obey the law, the number 1 appears as the leading significant digit about 30% of the time, while 9 appears as the leading significant digit less than 5% of the time. If the digits were distributed uniformly, they would each occur about 11.1% of the time.[2] Benford's law also makes predictions about the distribution of second digits, third digits, digit combinations, and so on.

This page lets you test the law against various data sets.

4/1/2017 Journal of Accountancy shows how to use this to look for fraud. (I suspect that if you look at total monthly sales, and the first digit is distributed in the 11.1% distribution, you may want to dig a bit deeper into the books.) So what?  Here is a collection of data using Newcomb-Benton Law to analyze precinct returns.  While many conform to the rule, others are suspicious.  The red lines are expected frequencies:

When you are making up numbers out of your head, you do not even think of Newcomb-Benton Law, and so you produce results that satisfy your inner Democrat, but do not map well to the real world.

Washington Post Article About Voter Fraud

8/22/20 Washington Post has a long and interesting article about a largescale attempt to throw the 1864 election to the Democratic candidate George McClellan by mail-in voter fraud.  Reading the comments by WP readers is a riot.  They attempt to shift blame for this to conservatives, and seem unaware that McClellan was a Democrat.  They also portray Trump as a tyrant for being concerned about voter fraud.  The level of self-delusion never ceases to amaze me.

Voter Fraud Guilty Plea

A former Judge of Elections has been convicted for his role in accepting bribes to cast fraudulent ballots and certifying false voting results during the 2014, 2015, and 2016 primary elections in Philadelphia.

Domenick J. Demuro, 73, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, pleaded guilty during a sealed proceeding on March 16, 2020, before U.S. District Judge Paul S. Diamond to conspiring to deprive persons of civil rights, and using interstate facilities in aid of bribery. The court unsealed the matter today.  Sentencing is scheduled for June 30, 2020.

During his guilty plea hearing, Demuro admitted that while serving as an elected municipal Judge of Elections, he accepted bribes in the form of money and other things of value in exchange for adding ballots to increase the vote totals for certain candidates on the voting machines in his jurisdiction and for certifying tallies of all the ballots, including the fraudulent ballots.  Demuro further admitted that a local political consultant gave him directions and paid him money to add votes for candidates supported by the consultant, including candidates for judicial office whose campaigns actually hired the consultant, and other candidates for various federal, state and local elective offices preferred by that consultant for a variety of reasons.  Demuro also admitted that the votes he added in exchange for payments by the political consultant increased the number of votes fraudulently recorded and tallied for the consultant’s clients and preferred candidates, thereby diluting the ballots cast by actual voters.

Remember, Voter Fraud is Fake News

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WNCN) - Federal authorities announced Friday that 19 illegal immigrants in North Carolina illegally voted during the 2016 election.
A news release from United States Attorney for the Eastern District of North Carolina also said several of those charged voted in more than one election.
And yes, I have a "voter fraud" label to more quickly find these stories.

Remember: Voter Fraud is a Myth

Crystal Mason was sentenced to five years in prison this week after she voted in the 2016 election while on parole, according to Dallas ABC affiliate WFAA. Mason was on parole after serving time for a federal tax crime, her lawyer said.
"She had a good faith belief she could vote legally and she did so," Mason's attorney Warrent St. John told WFAA.

Dr..John Lott Causing Trouble Again

From a recent email:
My recent testimony before the President's Advisory Commission on Election Integrity received coverage in hundreds of news stories and a couple of op-eds in the Chicago Tribune and The Hill. The idea is a simple one: Democrats have long lauded the NICS system as a simple, accurate, and fair way to check whether people can legally own guns “without in any way abridging rights," so why not use that system to check whether voters are legally eligible to vote? The reaction to my proposal was swift and harsh. “Horrified,” “patently absurd,” and “flabbergasted” were some of the attacks. That I just wanted to “suppress” voting. Democrats and the media didn't think that any of their concerns applied to the restrictions on buying guns.
The real issue is that the Democrats do not want voter registration accurate.

Voter Fraud is Real

Democrats insist that it is rare.  9/7/17 PJMedia:
Over 6,000 voters in New Hampshire had used same-day voter registration procedures to register and vote simultaneously for president. The current New Hampshire Speaker of the House, Shawn Jasper, sought and obtained data about what happened to these 6,000 "new" New Hampshire voters who showed up on Election Day.
It seems the overwhelming majority of them can no longer be found in New Hampshire.
Of those 6,000, only 1,014 have ever obtained New Hampshire driver's licenses. Of the 5,526 voters who never obtained a New Hampshire driver's license, a mere three percent have registered a vehicle in New Hampshire.
This more than Hilary's margin of victory there and the governor's margin of victory.   How many Democrats have been elected b y these phantom voters across the country.  Obama made a joke about this:
"You can only vote once — this isn't Chicago, now,” Obama said at a rally in Milwaukee for Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mary Burke.

Voter Fraud As Republican Fantasy

12/18/16 Detroit Free Press:

Detroit's election woes: 782 more votes than voters

Whether the result of machine malfunction, human error or even fraud, the unexplained voting discrepancies in Detroit last month were not sizable enough to affect the outcome in Michigan of the presidential election, according to a new Free Press analysis of voting precinct records.
In 248 precincts, there were a total of 782 more votes tabulated by voting machines than the number of voters listed as picking up ballots in the precincts’ poll books. That makes up just three-tenths of 1% of the total 248,211 votes that were logged in Detroit for the presidential election. That number was far too small to swing the statewide election results, even in this year’s especially tight race that saw a Republican win Michigan for the first time since George Bush in 1988.
Confidence-inspiring, isn't it?

Registering the Dead to Vote

HARRISONBURG, Va. — A man paid to register Virginia voters prior to the 2016 Presidential Election will spend at least 100 days in prison for submitting the names of deceased individuals to the Registrar’s Office.
James Madison University student Andrew J. Spieles, 21, of Harrisonburg, pled guilty Monday in the United States District Court for the Western District of Virginia. As part of the plea agreement, Spieles agreed to a prison sentence of 100 to 120 days.Spieles worked for Harrisonburg Votes when he committed the crime, according to acting United States Attorney Rick A. Mountcastle.
Harrisonburg Votes is a political organization affiliated with the Democratic Party.“In July 2016 Spieles’ job was to register as many voters as possible and reported to Democratic Campaign headquarters in Harrisonburg,” a U.S. Attorney’s Office spokesperson said. “In August 2016, Spieles was directed to combine his registration numbers with those of another individual because their respective territories overlapped. After filling out a registration form for a voter, Spieles entered the information into a computer system used by the Virginia Democratic Party to track information such as name, age, address and political affiliation. Every Thursday an employee/volunteer hand-delivered the paper copies of the registration forms to the Registrar’s Office in Harrisonburg.”
Now, why register the dead to vote?  Are you expecting them to vote?  Or someone else to vote in their name?  Why ID should be required to vote, and yes, considering who he worked for, such laws probably favor Republicans.
