Another Tragedy That Could Have Been Worse

10/26/26 CBS News reports on a Bend, Oregon school shooting which caused the deaths of three children and a teacher and the wounding of two others. The shooter was 16 and used a pump shotgun.

The incident came to an end when a bystander (by some reports, a parent) pursued the shooter into the school and shot the murderer to death.

I would discount pretty much everything we hear about the shooter for several days. Initial reporting about his identity and motives tend to be rumors or carefully spun. Remember that Everytown gave Oregon an A- gun control grade.
