Never Underestimate the Ability of Fanatics to Reimagine Reality

7/14/25 Telegraph reports on a movement thst makes election-deniers seem reasonable:

Democrats are having trouble figuring out why they lost the election.   This will not make it any easier.

When a movement goes beyond insisting the election was rigged to insisting that our timeline was split and they just to persuade us they are right, the QAnon conspiracy theories seem positively sane.  BlueQAnon, indeed.

Keep telling yourselves this a timeline split, one that does need a time machine to fix.  The alternative would be asking how you blew it against a person with extraordinary personal negatives and the most extraordinary campaign of lawfare in American political history.

The Epstein List

 7/15/25 The Hill reports on what Epstein's lawyer says about the "clients' list."

Jeffrey Epstein’s former lawyer Alan Dershowitz said two judges in New York are suppressing information about the disgraced financier and convicted sex offender’s case, not the Trump administration....

Dershowitz, who helped get a plea deal for Epstein in 2008, said that there’s no Epstein “client list,” just a redacted FBI affidavit from accusers. 

“There are several of them from accusers that accuse Jeffrey — that accuse various people of having improper sex, and that has been redacted, the names of the people accused have been blacked out. Now, of course, because I was lawyer and I did all the investigations, I know who all these people are,” Dershowitz said Monday in an appearance on NewsNation’s “Cuomo.” 

The former lawyer argued none of the people in the affidavit are figures currently holding a public office. 

“Some of them were previously in office. Some of them are dead. But there is no client list,” he told host Chris Cuomo. “And the redactions could be undone if you go to court.”

“So, many of the things that are being suppressed are being suppressed by two judges in Manhattan, and they’re doing it largely to protect the alleged accusers who are, in the view of the judges, victims, even though we don’t know what their actual status is,” he added.

Dershowitz reiterated he cannot disclose more information due to judge’s orders, but said Attorney General Pam Bondi and Trump were “not responsible” for missing information.

“I don’t know of any information that they could disclose that they haven’t disclosed. Now maybe there is some, but I’m simply not aware of it,” he said. “And so, I think it’s important to place the blame where the blame deserves to be placed.”

That list, unredacted, might be very interesting, but victims' recollections depend on being to accurately identify who these people were at the time of the offense.  For a famous person, this is unlikely to be difficult, but for anyone else, this might be hearsay, in which case judges regarding those in the affadavit as victims could actually be true if they were not whom the victims thought they were.

This just keeps getting weirder.  7/14/25 Petapixel reports thst Wired turned over the "raw footage" from Epstein’s cell to experts who report that it was edited by Adobe Premiere Pro from two different sources videos in May.  It is hard to imagine that anyone would go to this much trouble but not know about Metadata.  

I am reminded of Obama's birth certificate that was grossly and obviously constructed in PhotoShop, probably to provoke more conspiracy theories.

7/15/25 Wired now says almost three minutes of video are missing.  What can happen in three minutes?

100 MPG Carburetors; Cures for Cancer

A,traditional conspiracy theory when I was young was that 100 mpg carburetors were being suppressed by oil companies.  The obvious question then was, "Why would car companies not sell cars with such efficient systems?"  While oil companies would have reason to suppress inventions that would reduce sales,  car companies would have reason to sell them, just to gain a competitive advantage over other car companies.   While oil companies enjoyed great financial power, so did car companies. 

Today,  the conspiracy theory is that Big Pharma suppresses cures for cancer.   Like oil companies,  their incentive is clear.   Health insurance companies have a similar incentive to the car companies.  Imagine an insurer who could purchase  $1 a pill cancer cures.  Even at $1000, this would be an enormous financial gain.  Think also of the advantages in gaining customers. 

Conspiracy theories are very popular, but these are the dumbest  

Just For Giggles

Google Earth has pretty high quality satellite imaging of this part of Idaho.  Images do not show my current house built in 2022 but they do show the extensive additions made to my house near Horseshoe Bend in 2020.  This imaging is thus 2-5 years old.  

Can you find any detention camps near Gowen Field?  I see nothing but then again, I am not expecting an Arbeit Macht Frei sign, or railroad tracks, or crematoria.  If you are easily bored or curious could you take a look and see if you see anything that looks anomalous?  Giant slab 30 miles south of Boise.

I looked for the supposed UN base in O'Brien Canyon, Nevada and all I can find is high desert scrub.  Maybe it is all underground!

I am sure they conspired to prevent UNLV from hiring him.

George Soros is not a mark of antisemitic theories.  His Jewishness did not stop him from helping the Germans loot his fellow Hungarian Jews during World War II and he has refused to admit that he did something wrong, not even a "I did it because I was afraid for my life" excuse.

Conspiracy theories are popular ways to explain failures that might lay a little closer to home.  I was watching the Son of Hamas author explaining why the Muslim world hates the Jews.  Israel is a successful nation with a European GDP, vastly higher than any Arab nation.  It could not possibly be Muslim religion or Arab culture at fault.  It is easier to look outside rather than inside.  The parallels to the constant AWFL screeching about racism as the core of black poverty explains why BLM chapters endorsed Hamas' murder, torture, and rape rampage.  Admit that sexualizing girls at 12, leaving pregnant mother's behind to pursue another underage sexual conquest, and glorifying drug dealers while denigrating education as "acting white" could not possibly explain anything that has gone wrong.  It is all Whitey!

Conspiracy Theory Becomes Spoiler Alert in 24 Hours

The NY Times talks about a conspiracy theory circulating about CCP connections to an election software company. The next day the Times reported the arrest of the company's CEO for theft of voter data.

I see that Alex Jones, purveyor of conspiracy theories to people weak on reasoning is going to pay for defaming the parents of the Newtown dead.

Freedom of speech was never intended to protect false defamatory, libelous, and slanderous speech.  I agree with those who say the Sullivan decision damaged our libel laws in ways that encourage careless and dishonest news media.  This does not in anyway make spreading lies that damage the reputation of others acceptable.  This is not "hurt feelings."  This is destroying reputations so badly that unhinged sorts make threats to those defamed.

Alex Jones says ridiculous things to get clicks.  He made his money.  Now he is responsible for the damage he did making that money.

An interesting article from Psychology Today explains Informational Learned Helplessness:

Along with some important ways to improve news coverage, what is fascinating is that where some conspiracy buffs imagine that Gates created COVID-19 to kill the white population of the U S. to replace us with Chinese, in Russia Gates is trying to kill Russians and Chinese.  

I get it!  He is killing all of us to replace us with lizard people!

To Those Who Think This is a Hoax

Even if the 334,000 more deaths in 2020 compared to 2019 are bogus, why didn't Trump inform us during the campaign that it was a hoax?  He could have coasted to an easy victory.
