Any More Understatements, Sir?
July 19, 2011 Channel 7 in Denver has a news report about a group of robbers using baseball bats to attack couples leaving bars and restaurants at closing time. Denver's police spokesman engages in a great understatement:

Well, yes, but note that the people being approached are leaving bars, which means that they are most certainly not carrying, as that would be illegal (in Denver). Perhaps the perps have taken this into consideration.
