Amazing video. I hope the U.S. has all of its planes in hangars. A surprise attack from nearby locations could be devastating. They got some planes in the air when the attack started but the cost to Russia is huge. Some Russian generals may not be going home.
Unfortunately, very, very few aircraft are in hangars unless they are being worked upon. Tactically the downside to hangaring is delay in moving them out for takeoff (although some fighters are stored on alert in open-ended sheds), and the cost of building that many hangars is not inconsequential.

ReplyDeleteApparently parking the bombers out where they can be seen and verified by Satellite is one of the requirements of some Nuclear Weapons treaty.
