Trump Administration Steps in to Protect AR-15s and Standard Capacity Magazines

A challenge to the Ilinois assault weapon and standard capacity magazine ban is before the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals.  The Department of Justice has filed an amicus brief asking the judges hearing the appeal to find AWs and standard capacity (greater than 10 rounds) magazines protected by the Second Amendment.

Of note:
"The Second Amendment’s history demonstrates that
possessing at least certain “militaristic” weapons was
a core part of the right to keep and bear arms."
