The Right Tool For the Job
My father often used this expression to emphasize the importance of using tools as intended. An adjustable wrench can be used as a hammer, but not as effectively, and may end up damaged. I received a specifically metal cutting bandsaw blade for my Craftsman vertical bandsaw and what a difference. Finer teeth (you should have three teeth in the material) and 1/2" wide, so less flex means a straighter cut.

Most people run too fine a blade (too many TPI) on their bandsaws. As mentioned, three teeth in the cut is good. People may think they need 16-18 TPI, when they should be running 8-10 TPI.
