It Is Always Good to Have More Stock Than You Think You Need

The first attempt at the motor bracket was both ugly and one of the legs in which 6-32 through holes would go to secure it to polar axis housing was not stiff enough to tolerate drilling. 

Fortunately,  I had a 4" x 4" piece still unuaed. This time,  i will drill the through holes through the "legs" before milling out the 1 09" space between them.

My mill vise is not large enough to hold a 4" workpiece so I had to clamp it to the mill table and trim to 3" x 4" that way.

Now I have something 3" wide that fits in the vise.
