A Victory in Mississippi

Mississippi legislature allowed enhanced concealed carry licensees to carry in state courthouses although judges had authority to decide about individual courtrooms.   Some judges decided that they had authority to ban carry in courthouses.   Mississippi Supreme Court told the judges that the legislature had authority to pass laws, not judges.

A reader noticed the dissent pointed to the racist intent behind Mississippi's concealed weapon laws.

  1. Might want to also check the dissenting judges' statements.
