Let Me Bang the Drum for an Amazing Mexican Restaurant in Kingsport

I was a bit concerned that we might have difficulty find good Mexican food so far from the Southwest. Santa Fe Mexican Grill has now far exceeded our expectations both with Carne Asada Tacos and Chicken Fajitas. I notice many dishes on the menu that I have never seen before. I am aware that many Mexican restaurants in the Southwest reflect Sonoran traditions. I wonder if we may be seeing more dishes from other states?

Spectacular Meal

Bistro Casanova in Kahului.  Most flavorful Italian restaurant I have enjoyed in many years.  I had fettuccine Bolognese with meatballs.   The rest of our party was similarly impressed with their meals.  Lunch portions were, "Dinner? Are you kidding?" sized.  I think my meal was about $16.  For a resort island 2500 miles from many of its likely suppliers, that seems very reasonable. 

Oh Wow

I just ate at a Grant's Neighborhood Grill in Meridian. A little spendy for lunch, but the Tri-Tip Sandwich was awesome!  Just the right amount of horseradish sauce,  onions,  cheese,  and mushrooms,  served with fries and au jus.  It had been a while since I ate at a restaurant that left me so awed.  (Or is it odd?)

The Best Chinese Food in Boise

okay I admit that isn't saying much because most Chinese food in Boise is absolutely awful, but China Grand Buffet at Fairview and Five Mile Road is actually pretty good.they have quite an assortment of different foods including pizza, mashed potatoes, and other traditional American items.  Not sure I should promote buffets, since they encourage overeating, but they are character-building.
