Bears?
We noticed some most peculiar stuff on our driveway this afternoon--something that looked like berries had been run through a food processor inexpertly. Then, we ran into our neighbors at the market, and they believe that they saw a bear around dawn. This looks like what I would imagine bear scat to look like--and we know that in the past, there have been black bears here.

Or Raccoon, depending on the size of the pile.
ReplyDeleteBest idea is to put the trash containers inside the garage if they aren't bear proof, remove any bird feeders from the exterior as well.
ReplyDeleteCan you post picts of the poo with something next to them like a ruler so we can get an idea of size?
ReplyDeleteAbout 4" x 4".
ReplyDeleteThere are no exterior trash containers here. We recycle almost everything (bins in the garage) and the small quantity of garbage sits in the garage until we visit the dump, which happens about every two weeks or so. (We use a trash compactor to reduce volume.)
ReplyDeleteIf its only berries in the scat its a black bear, if it has bells and smells like pepper spray it probably is from a grizzly. :-)
