"A human has received a titanium heart for the first time in medical history. The patient, 58, was implanted with the BiVACOR Total Artificial Heart (TAH) earlier this month as a bridge-to-heart-transplant solution for patients living with severe conditions."
This is a temporary until a suitable donor heart becomes available but still impressive.
Titanium is one of the best metals for implantable devices, apparently. Although usually it's used for joints.
