Of course, you should know that. The endmill was moving slightly side to side producing some very unflat surfaces. The entire vertical column would move if I grabbed it solidly and rotated it. On Sherline vertical mills, there are two big bolts that hold it the base. I suspect vibration over the last two years was at fault.
