(CNN)An Alabama corrections official who was last seen with a man held on murder charges now has a warrant out for her arrest.
A warrant was issued for Vicky White, an assistant director of corrections for Lauderdale County, on charges of permitting or facilitating escape in the first degree, Lauderdale County Sheriff Rick Singleton said.Vicky White was last seen Friday when she said she was taking inmate Casey White for a mental health evaluation at the county courthouse. No evaluation or hearing was scheduled for the inmate that day, authorities later found.
Unfortunately, corrections officers often fall in love with the criminals whom they are supposed to be watching. At a headquarters meeting some years ago, the director of Idaho Corrections observed that our officers come from pretty much the same socioeconomic class as the prisoners. I can see male officers taking advantage or being seduced by female offenders. Why female officers follow this same path mystifies me. They can't find scum outside prison to treat them badly?
The "ladies" love outlaws.
ReplyDeleteI remember when it was held that female corrections officers could guard and supervise male prisoners even in the showers, on the grounds that to block such assignments would handicap their career paths.
I cannot imagine the same being mandated for male guards and female prisoners. Another example of sexist jurisprudence.
One of the great frustrations of being a young man in the Disco Era was that it seemed that every young woman wanted a bad boy. I finally discovered that "I Was Looking for Love in All the Wrong Places." I met my wife at a Bible Study in 1979.
