Washington D.C. Gun Control and the Battle of Bladensburg

Often considered the most embarrassing battle of the War of 1812, James Gibson explains the failure as a consequence of a city ordinance banning the militia from having flints for their arms.  Some stupid is not new.

  1. Errr, is there any evidence of these anti-gun City of Washington laws? Maybe they are commonly known about by scholars like you, but I wasn't able to find any with my Google Fu, and the author of this essay didn't link to any.
