Beginning to Give Up Hope For The Sherline CNC Mill
Apparently, trying to take 0.01" off a 3" wide piece of aluminum, is, according to Sherline support, something even a Bruidgeport can't do. I think this was a communication failure. I experimented and found that 3/8" roughing mill can take off 0.02" at 5 inches/minute of feed reliably without jams.

I expect they're saying at once, with something like a fly cutter. Taking narrower passes with something like an end mill should always work.
