I went to turn in my California license (#N3205187) and get an Idaho driver's license. Also Idaho plates for my car. Unlike every DMV experience in California, it was fast and handled calmly and happily.
A few days ago, my new annual registration tags arrived for the Cadillac. A few days later, new license plates arrived. (As the clerk at DMV explained, they replace them every ten years because the reflective coating wears off.) My wife put the envelope with my new plates on the trunk as a reminder that I needed to change plates and then figure out how transfer the stickers I just put on the old plates to the new ones.
.
Of course, I never look at the rear of the car when I go anywhere. Somewhere on my next trip, that envelope with plates went flying. We retraced the path without success. After a couple of days, DMV suggested getting new plates.
The young woman behind the counter was cheerful, efficient and unnecessarily helpful. What is your DMV like in what state?
