Tire Shaving
For the next time we have a non-repairable flat: TireRack has a tire shaving service. I could have ordered a new Continental CrossContact and had them shave it to depth. This would have been several hundred dollars cheaper. But they are already on their way.

How long would you estimate your current tires would last? If just a couple years, consider sticking the new ones in storage (away from electric motors, etc), and getting one new one to shave. Well, shave one of the first batch, and order one to replace it, to speed up things.
ReplyDeleteA new Continental CrossContact is $140 delivered. Add $45 for shaving and this is a large part of the cost of the new tires. What's the point of being rich if you still have to think like a poor person?
