Keeping Scraps From Mill off Keyboard

I needed to keep debris from the mill off the notebook keyboard and generally simplify cleanup, so I glued a couple pieces of 17x27" acrylic together.  Hard to see them because they are clear.  Going to add another one in a few days.  This at least keeps everything going the same way.

  1. That table looks too unstable for a mill. The table may be moving in reaction to the stages and the cutting action, and could be inducing feed-back into their movement. Chatter may be one of the results. I'd suggest a decent workbench quality table construction to eliminate this possibility.

  2. Perhaps a shop-vac and something like this magnetic dust chute? (http://www.leevalley.com/us/wood/page.aspx?p=30041&cat=1,42401&ap=1)

That should, in principle, suck up all the debris as it's produced.

  3. There are many different silicone "keyboard condoms" that are designed for applications like this.
    Prices run $5 and up.
