A Solution to the Marijuana Problem

Marijuana that won't get you high.  CBS reports that Israeli scientists have bred a strain of marijuana that has no THC, so the health and pain benefits are still present, but there's no intoxication. I'm guessing that the vast majority of "medical marijuana" advocates will now try to find some way to argue that this isn't a sufficient solution.

  1. Just great, this discovery will turn stoners into Anti-Semites. Oy Vey.

  2. So the THC isn't what gives it its anti-nausea property?

Hmmm, what's the thinking on what gives it its apparent schizophrenia provoking property?

  3. Without any law changes it is legal to apply to the head of the DEA (as the surrogate for the Attorney General in charge of such things) to get a license to grow this and demonstrate the medical benefits of the plant. If I were in the agriculture research field, I would apply.

I would also expect to get turned down because of the politics of the matter. The money maker of the whole affair would be a "Roger and Me" style film documenting the process of attempting to get a legal production license for a schedule I/II drug.
