In Spite of Their Best Efforts to Panic the Markets into Collapse..

The stock market has largely recovered (as least for me).  My IRA is 9% higher than a year ago, while I took out 8% in distributions.

Over the last five years, I have enjoyed a 102% gain while taking out 6-8% per year.  Do not let temporary setbacks worry you.

Why Are Democrats So Intent on Stopping Deportations?

6/1/25 FoxNews:
"An Egyptian national who came into the country two years ago and overstayed his visa has been charged in the gruesome terror attack that left six people injured in Boulder, Colorado, Saturday, authorities said.

Mohamed Sabry Soliman, 45, was arrested at the scene, after he allegedly set his victims on fire as they peacefully rallied on behalf of Israeli hostages still being held by Hamas in Gaza. Soliman was heard yelling "Free Palestine" and other anti-Israel slogans during the attack on victims ranging in age from 67 to 88.

"The shocking violence unfolded at 1:26 p.m. local time, when Boulder police were called to the county courthouse on Pearl Street for reports of a man who had a weapon and was setting people on fire, according to Boulder Police Chief Steve Redfearn."

I will be curious to watch how Democrats defend why this guy was not deported years ago.

It is beginning to feel like the mass deportations that Democrats fear need to happen pronto.

You Probably Know a Big CME Is Coming Our Way

Tonight's predicted impact. A member of our astronomical society caught this picture this morning.   This is a good night to drive to Northern Idsho for aurorae.

Orange Man Bad Making Us Richer

Bureau of Economic Analysis:
"Personal income increased $210.1 billion (0.8 percent at a monthly rate) in April, according to estimates released today by the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis. Disposable personal income (DPI)—personal income less personal current taxes—increased $189.4 billion (0.8 percent) and personal consumption expenditures (PCE) increased $47.8 billion (0.2 percent). Personal outlays—the sum of PCE, personal interest payments, and personal current transfer payments—increased $48.6 billion in April. Personal saving was $1.12 trillion in April and the personal saving rate—personal saving as a percentage of disposable personal income—was 4.9 percent."

All of this effort to make rich people richer and poor people poorer.

100 MPG Carburetors; Cures for Cancer

A,traditional conspiracy theory when I was young was that 100 mpg carburetors were being suppressed by oil companies.  The obvious question then was, "Why would car companies not sell cars with such efficient systems?"  While oil companies would have reason to suppress inventions that would reduce sales,  car companies would have reason to sell them, just to gain a competitive advantage over other car companies.   While oil companies enjoyed great financial power, so did car companies.

Today,  the conspiracy theory is that Big Pharma suppresses cures for cancer.   Like oil companies,  their incentive is clear.   Health insurance companies have a similar incentive to the car companies.  Imagine an insurer who could purchase  $1 a pill cancer cures.  Even at $1000, this would be an enormous financial gain.  Think also of the advantages in gaining customers.

Conspiracy theories are very popular, but these are the dumbest

Orange Man Bad Inflation

6/30/25 Investopedia:
"Consumer prices rose 2.1% over the year in April as measured by Personal Consumption Expenditures, the Bureau of Economic Analysis said Friday.
1 That was the lowest annual inflation since September. The inflation rate was lower than the expectations of forecasters, who had called for a 2.2% increase according to a survey of economists by Dow Jones Newswires and The Wall Street Journal.2"

Orange Man Bad Trade Deficit

5/30/25 Reuters:
"WASHINGTON, May 30 (Reuters) - The U.S. trade deficit in goods narrowed sharply in April as the boost from the front-running of imports ahead of tariffs faded.
"The goods trade gap contracted 46.0% to $87.6 billion last month, the Commerce Department's Census Bureau said on Friday. Goods imports decreased $68.4 billion to $276.1 billion. Exports of goods increased $6.3 billion to $188.5 billion."
