Semi-Autonomous Self-Driving

Cadillac calls it SuperCruise.  It uses road-specific information (which limits it to 750,000 miles of North American roads), radar, and lane markings.

I went onto I84 west of Boise and turned it on.  It successfully figured out where the road turned, keeping me in lane.  When I turned on the turn signal,  it checked to the side and behind, then slowly changed lanes.  You still have to turn off the signal manually.

You still should have hands on wheel.  It watches your eyes to make sure you are looking ahead and have no climbed into the backseat.  I am not sure what it really buys you.
