I Am Generally Pretty Hands Off on How Parents Raise Their Children...

There are however limits.  7/1/22 Daily Mail:

vegan mother has been found guilty of murder for the death of her 18-month-old son who weighed just 17lbs when he died in 2019 after a short life being fed only fruit, vegetables and breastmilk. ...

She is now facing life behind bars and will be sentenced on July 25. Her son Ezra died in 2019 from complications caused by malnutrition.

Doctors found he hadn't been fed for a week by the time he died in September 2019.

Sheila and her husband, who has also been charged with murder and is waiting trial, called 911 after Ezra stopped breathing. ...

The couple also had a three-year-old and a five-year-old who were severely malnourished.

Their skin was yellow and one suffered such poor dental hygiene that their teeth were black.

Teach your children your values but do not starve them to death (or is that 12 trimester abortion).  There is a saying that "Insanity is doing the same thing again and again and expecting different results."  Your child is clearly starving to death but your ideology takes precedence. I am reminded of Christian Scientists refusing lifesaving treatment for their kids.

If you as an adult want to scream: "My body, my choice" fine.  You are the loser if you:

  1. Not the first parents that have gone to prison for attempting to raise children as vegans. It always causes permanent damage to the kids. Always.
With the web these days, there is no excuse for this idiocy.

  2. This wasn't because the parents (or mother) being vegan. At 18 months "fruits, vegetables and breastmilk" is probably enough. Barely.

    This was about:

I don't think vegan diets are a wise choice--and in the coming months vegans living in the northern tier of the US are going to find out why--but it is entirely possible to feed a small child a vegan diet, plus some supplements, that allow them to thrive.

It's just *very* hard work. These monsters weren't even willing FEED THEIR KIDS, much do the work that would have allowed them to thrive.

This happens with non-vegan parents too.

    Again, not defending vegans here.
