Not the Sharpest Tool in the Toolbox

Hester, N.C. (1910)

12/19/1910: The murderer raped and then murdered his victim, then her father, and her two-year-old daughter before burning down the house around them.  The murderer left the knife he used at the scene, covered in blood. Neighbors immediately recognized the knife as belonging to a farmhand on a neighboring property.  Police quickly arrested and removed him from the county to prevent a lynching.
