Why is this school shooting getting so little media attention?

A 17-year-old male student shot two other students at Great Mills High School in Maryland on Tuesday morning before a school resource officer engaged him and stopped the threat, authorities said.
The incident began in a school hallway at 7:55 a.m., just before classes started. Authorities say Austin Wyatt Rollins, armed with a handgun, shot a female and a male student. The shooter had a prior relationship with the female student, St. Mary's County Sheriff Tim Cameron said.
School resource officer Blaine Gaskill responded to the scene in less than a minute, the sheriff said. Gaskill fired a round at the shooter, and the shooter fired a round simultaneously, Cameron said.
Darn, CNN is probably saying. There's not enough of a pddule to get an adequate dance going. Where is the ad revenue? Oh yes, it does not involve a rifle but the far more common handgun.
Did you notice that at least a couple articles called it a "semi-automatic pistol" I would be very surprised if som learned journalist somewhere is not calling it a semi automatic assault pistol.
ReplyDeleteAs for why handgun murders get little play: the press is racist. Lots and lots of blacks are killed with pistols. Mostly by other blacks. Very few are killed by long guns. The journos and the progfas don't give a damn about black on black murders. The attitude seems to be that they are lower races and watchagonnado?
Witness the racism of city governments in places like Baltimore Cleveland chicago etc.
Long gun murders tend to be of whites and we can't have that, now can we.

They were talking about it well enough until they learned what stopped the shooter: an armed member of the school staff. Then they turned their attention to the Austin Bomber, which I am sure they originally ignored because they suspected it was a Islamic terrorist. Not the now known White kid who is being quickly painted as a Teaparty person, devote Christian, hater of Gays, etc, etc, etc. When they find out the facebook page is someone else's, like following the Colorado shooting, they will clam up again.
ReplyDeleteWhenever they mention self-loading (semi-auto) pistols, always remember to say something along the lines of "an antique designed pistol from the late 1800's"
